A prominent and well-respected player in sub-contract fabrication, this is a small, independent business with a strong reputation for producing high-quality precision-engineered parts, structural fabrications, welding and coating services.
They are seeking to employ an in-house Design Engineer who will be responsible for and oversee all design activity for the business.
Essentially this is a hybrid role that requires people skills, general engineering experience, design experience and a willingness to role your sleeves up and get stuck in when required. The role is Monday-Friday with some flexibility available in the hours and although predominantly office-based you will find yourself at various sites on a regular basis.
You should be able to demonstrate design experience with familiarity with Autocad/Solidworks or similar, have spent some time within an industrial/general engineering environment and have an interest in dealing with people.

This is an exciting and varied role that will see you act as the key link between customer design and in-house production. You’ll split your time between managing customer drawings and producing your own, working closely with the fabrication shop and key people within to ensure that they have the resources they need to produce what’s required. You’ll also spend some time interfacing with customers on-site, taking measurements and clarifying their needs in order to produce the required drawings for the shop floor.
