An extremely innovative Scottish design and manufacturing business that has already made great strides in the renewables sector. They manufacture products and systems with renewable applications – mainly Wind and Wave. These products are leading edge with strong IP protection. They are well funded for their next period of growth which involves the commercialisation of their new product designs. To facilitate further growth, they are looking to hire an Engineering Leader.
It’s likely that you are an experienced Engineering Leader with knowledge and understanding across Design, R&D, NPD, manufacturing and leadership. Renewables experience would be beneficial but it’s not a prerequisite.
You will coach, support and lead the engineering department which includes Design, R&D, NPD and manufacturing/fabrication. A significant part of the role in the early stages will be to help your team interpret and translate designs for new prototypes and liaise with both internal manufacturing and external sub-contract manufacturers to streamline the overall manufacturing process, which has caused some issues to date. As soon as you have implemented the correct processes and procedures, the next step is to play a leading role in commercialising some of their solutions, which have been extremely well received by some global OEM’s so far.
